VisionWalk - A Cure is in Sight

Greetings!

The New York City VisionWalk is just 8 days away! We're in the home stretch and I want to thank you for all of the hard work you have put in to the VisionWalk. We've got great momentum going with more than $25,000 raised this week! Let's keep it up and make this last week before the Walk a big one!

All Star Challenge

Last Friday, Cliff Aaron, a National Trustee and the Captain of Team Cliff: A Sight for Sore Eyes, issued an All Star Challenge. The first three people who joined him in the ranks of VisionWalk All Stars this week would win a great prize - two Mets tickets to the April 26th game at Citi Field donated by Team Captain and All Star Rich Warner.

And the Challenge winners are...

Mel Moskowitz - Vision Warriors

Michael Kienzle - Chefs for Sight

Jeanette Hogan - Team Jack Attack

Congratulations to our three winners and thanks to everyone who helped us raise more than $25,000 in just one week!

  Shout Outs!

VisionWalk Shout Outs!

Our VisionWalkers are doing some amazing things in the quest to raise money and awareness for retinal degenerative diseases. Please join me in recognizing a few of our teams and walkers.

Nickie McCall is the Captain of VisionWalk newcomer Regeneron. Nickie has already recruited 27 walkers and told me today that they are going to be bussing in at least 50 people to the Walk! Plus, they are more than halfway to their $2,500 goal with more donations coming in every day! Great work, Nickie!

Walk Co-Chair Michelle Veloce is really working all of her networks. Team Veloce has raised $12,536 and Michelle is adding to that by recruiting her donors to submit matching gift requests to their employers. So far, Team Veloce has earned $1,850 in FREE MONEY!

Proving that it is never too late to join the VisionWalk, this week 4 teams have registered to walk on April 21st. Join me in welcoming: Lady Godiva (Captain Irene G. Kamaroff), Walk for Local Eyes (Captain Jodi Ann Sasaki), Flushing Universal Lions Club (Captain Enrique Mendez-Osorio), and Francis Lewis High School (Captain Kevin Wong). Welcome to the VisionWalk!

Remember, the VisionWalk is next week! Stay tuned to more messages coming with complete Walk Day details. You can also join in our "Get All Your VisionWalk Questions Answered" office hours on Wednesday, April 18th from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. This is a drop in call where you can ask any questions you have about the VisionWalk to make sure you are ready for Walk Day. To join the call, dial (888) 270-9936 and enter access code 7375706#.

Of course, if you have any questions before that call or if you need help registering team members or recording donations, please contact me at (212) 961-6881.

Have a great weekend and don't forget to talk the Walk!

Cheers!

Katie
