Greetings, VisionWalkers!
We are almost there - the New York City VisionWalk is on Saturday! I hope you are as excited as I am! VisionWalk is
a great way to raise awareness for the Foundation Fighting Blindness
and our fight for sight. It is also a great opportunity to catch up
with old friends and meet new friends who are just as excited as you are
about our mission. Plan to come out early and hang around after the Walk!

VisionWalk Season!
Our fundraising has really picked up over the past few days with jumps
of thousands of dollars each day. Today, in fact, we crossed over $212,500
and have now reached 50% of our goal!
But, did you know that VisionWalk is a season, not just a day? We will be
raising money for the New York City VisionWalk until the last day of
VisionWalk season, which is June 30th! Don't stop fundraising on Walk Day! If you have reached your goal,
that is AWESOME! Consider increasing it to encourage others to support
you after the Walk. If you have not met your goal, this is your
opportunity!
I foresee many more VisionWalk All Stars in our future!

What to Expect on Walk Day
Join us on Saturday, April 21st at the Central Park Bandshell for the 6th Annual New York City VisionWalk!
Location
On
Saturday morning the VisionWalk will be set up in the Bandshell in
Central Park. The easiest way to access the Bandshell is to enter the
park at 72nd Street (either on the east or west side). We will have
volunteers in bright yellow t-shirts at the entrances and along the
route to the Bandshell to direct you where you need to go. For a map - including subway information - please check out our Walk Day Details page.
Registration
When
you arrive at the VisionWalk, please check in at the Registration Tent.
This is where you will not only check in, but also turn in any
money you have brought to the walk with you. Our Registration Tent will
be open by 8:00am. Even if you have registered online, please stop by the Registration Tent when you arrive to check in.
VisionWalk T-Shirts
Each
walker who has raised and turned in $100 or more will receive a
VisionWalk t-shirt! When you check in, you will be given a voucher for
your shirt so you can pick it up at the T-Shirt Tent.
Activities
We will
have a brief stage presentation beginning at 9:00am followed by our Team Spirit Contest. We will also have an energetic warm up - our DJ will get your
group pumped up! Other activities at the Walk include a
bounce house, face painting, and sports with a twist (play ball with our
impaired sight masks). After the VisionWalk we will have more
activities and snacks at the Bandshell.

VisionWalk Photos
We will have two official photographers at the VisionWalk. Make sure to
get your team photo taken - the Bandshell makes a great backdrop! We
want to have a photo of every team at the Walk. And, if you take photos
during the Walk, please share them with us! We'll be posting our photos
in an album on the VisionWalk website and we can include yours as well.
Rain or Shine:
VisionWalk is a rain or shine event. We may have a gray day, but the rain should hold off until after the VisionWalk. Either way, we'll be walking!
