What is My Campaign to End Blindness?

My Campaign to End Blindness is a special program created by the Foundation Fighting Blindness to empower people who care about ending blindness and restoring sight to create their own fundraising campaign to support research.

It is about bringing the community together to make treatments and cures possible faster.

What do I have to do to be a part of My Campaign to End Blindness?

It’s Easy! You can participate in two ways:

  1. Start a personal Campaign to End Blindness campaign.  By using our simple online form to create your My Campaign to End Blindness webpage, commonly referred to as a personal page.  It usually takes less 30 minutes to get everything set up.  Then use email, Facebook or Twitter to ask your friends and family to help you reach your My Campaign to End Blindness goal.  You will be able to keep track of who has supported your page, have access to template emails, and import your address book through the your personalized Participant Center – this center makes  reach your fundraising goal as easy as possible.  
  2. Donate to My Campaign to End Blindness.  If you aren’t ready to start your personal Campaign to End Blindness, you can make an online donation to help someone else reach their goal, or make a general donation to support the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ work.

What happens to money raised through My Campaign to End Blindness?

All money raised through My Campaign to End Blindness is used to support the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ research and awareness programs.

Is my gift to My Campaign to End Blindness tax-deductible?

Yes, like all donations to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, donations made through My Campaign to End Blindness are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

If I receive a donation online in support of my personal page, how will I know?

During the registration process you can select if you want to be notified or not.  If you select to be notified you will be sent any email whenever a person donates online in support of you. You can then send a thank you email to all of your donors directly from your personalized Participant Center!  If you prefer not to be notified you can always view your donors by logging in your personalized Participant Center.

About Donations To My Campaign to End Blindness

Is my credit card and other information secure?

Yes. All credit card donations to My Campaign to End Blindness are processed through our secure servers using industry-standard SSL encryption.  After completion of the transaction, credit card information is destroyed.  The Foundation Fighting Blindness does not retain or store your credit card number.

All other information including passwords, email address, and other personal information is securely stored in our database.  We employ state-of-the art encryption and use secure data protocols to keep your information safe.

Can people make donations to My Campaign to End Blindness without using the website?

Yes. Your supporters can make donations by check or money order if they prefer not to make a gift with a credit or debit card online.

Checks and money orders should be made out to Foundation Fighting Blindness and mailed to:

To ensure we are able to “credit” your personal Campaign to End Blindness please consider asking your donors to write your name on the check or money order.

Please never send cash.

Donations by credit/debit card or EFT can also be made by calling one of the Foundation’s Membership team members at 410-423-0637 or toll free at 1-800-683-5555 and ask for Jennifer. 

Making gifts online through your web page via a credit or debit card is the fastest and most efficient way to give to My Campaign to End Blindness.

About My Participant Center

I forgot my username and password.
Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. Click here to find your password. You will receive an e-mail with your username and a link to retrieve or you’re your password. If you still have problems, please contact us at MyCampaign@FightBlindness.org for help.

How do I change my username and/or password?
First, login into your Participant Center using your username and password. Once logged in you will see a link at the top of the page called "Update My Profile." Once in your profile, you will be able to change your contact information, e-mail address, username and password. All changes will be made to your account immediately. There is no need to sign in again.

What is a Personal Page?
A personal page is your webpage for you to tell your story and use when asking your friends and family to support you in your quest to end blindness. Once you start your campaign by registering, you will automatically have a personal page created for you. You have the option of personalizing this page by going to your Participant Center. You will be able to add an image or video, tell your story and keep a blog, should you choose. On your personal page your will have a donate button specifically for you, an honor roll of your generous donors and a thermometer so others can see your success.

How can I see who has donated to me?
Login to the Participant Center using your username and password and click the "my progress" tab; this will allow you to view your donor list and any amount donated.

What else can I do in the Participant Center?

In your participant center you can:

Edit your personal page to welcome potential donors & participants and tell your story.  

To edit your personal page click on the "Personal Page" button below the “My Campaign to End Blindness” banner above.

Upload your contacts to send emails to your friends, family and co-workers - we have even supplied some sample template emails to help get you started! Click the button above to get started!

Track your fundraising progress.

To track your progress click on the "Progress" button below the “My Campaign to End Blindness” banner.

Update your fundraising goal. 

To update your fundraising goal click on the blue "Change" link that is below your progress bar on the main page of your participant center.

Create a personalized URL to make it easier to direct people to your personal or team page.

To create a personalized URL, click on the "Personal Page" button below the My Campaign to End Blindness banner. Once there click on the blue "URL Settings" link at the top of that page. Type your personalization in the box where it says "www.FightBlindness.org/goto/". An example of a personalized URL is www.FightBlindness.org/goto/LisasCampaign.
