Congratulations, Western Michigan!

 

 On Saturday, September 8th twelve teams and over 150 walkers gathered at Millennium Park in Grand Rapids to raise funds and awareness for retinal degenerative disease research. Our walkers raised over $17,000 for retinal research!! Congratulations to our teams and walkers on a great season of advocacy!

We want to extend a huge thank you to our Medical Chair, Dr. Frank Garber of Vitreo-Retinal Associates. We also want to thank our 2012 sponsors, Retina Associates of Michigan, Vitreo-Retinal Associates, Grand Rapids Ophthalmology, West Michigan Eyecare Associates, Mika Meyers Beckett & Jones PLC, and First Companies, Inc.

We also want to thank the West Michigan Whitecaps for sending their mascot, Crash, out to celebrate with us! And of course, a huge thank you to our volunteers from Kohl's, VolunteerMatch, and Grand Valley State University's accounting fraternity, who ensured the day ran very smoothly.

Join the VisionWalk All Stars Club!

Every individual who raises $1,000 or more for the Western Michigan VisionWalk will be inducted into the All Stars Club and will receive a commemorative 2012 All Star pin on the day of the Walk.
