7th Annual Pittsburgh VisionWalk

Congratulations on a GREAT Walk!

Pittsburgh - Crowd shot 2014The weather was a bit chillier than we are used to, but I hope the fun of the event kept you warm throughout the great morning we had on Sunday.  As always, the view from The Great Lawn was quite amazing!

Something else that was amazing were the friends and families who got together to celebrate a very successful campaign this year to raise funds for the Foundation. We also accomplished something that not many walks in the COUNTRY have done ... met our goal BEFORE we even started the walk, and made it THREE years in row for reaching our goal. We have raised over $85,000, a record by over $10,000 for Pittsburgh!  Thanks to your efforts!

We had a huge turnout of 548 participants, and also welcomed a record 42 teams!

Here are a LOT of great photographs from the walk. If you have any additional ones, please send them to me and I will share with everyone.

A special thank you to the many community sponsors and in-kind donors who made Sunday such a great day for so many. Monkey Carts of Freeport was kind enough to donate the use of a fancy golf cart for the day, and they also stayed to volunteer. AWESOME to get that kind of support!

Special recognition goes out to the Delta Gammas from Carnegie Mellon for bringing top-notch volunteers.

Our musical guests for 2014, and we hope for a long time in the future, was The Revolving Doors.

We welcomed back some additional entertainment this year, the group of volunteer Star Wars costumers from Garrison Carida, who were a lot of fun for our families!

And finally, a HUGE thank you to all the Team Captains, walkers, and volunteers! Your support, dedication, and energy made the day a true success.
