We could not have asked for a better day, and a better VisionWalk on Sunday. The weather was picture perfect and our teams and families reached our goal a week BEFORE Walk day, which is an amazing accomplishment for all of you. We are still collecting donations and we have until June 30 as we get ever sooo close to $80,000!  There were more than 730 participants who enjoyed a beautiful day on the lakefront to celebrate our fundraising efforts in support of the Foundation and the critical research it funds.

Check back here for walk photos and updates on the totals (and if you have any photos, please e-mail them to me so I can post them on the website).  Again, thank you so much!

It's never too late to donate to the Walk. Let's keep the thermometer rising!  Please send any checks to:

Foundation Fighting Blindness

We want to give special thanks to our Walk Chairs, Nicole Everson and Cheri McElhatton; Medical Chair, Dr. David Gamm from the University of Wisconsin - Madison Hospitals and Clinics; Business Chairs Ruth Hagen and Karen Joost from Walmart Health and Wellness, Media Chair Tim Allen,  Youth Chair Alex Callies and a VERY strong Walk Committee ... Bunny Jordan, Nikki Thompson, Sharon Pfeifer, Peter Borchardt, Debi Laessig, Steven Piché, and Kimberly Stark. Your leadership and dedication to the VisionWalk was the driving force behind our success.

We would also like to thank our sponsors: Presenting Sponsor - Walmart, Regional Sponsor - Enhanced Vision; Associate Sponsor - The University of Wisconsin Madison Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences; Associate Sponsor - Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library; Pfeifer Financial Services, Peggie & Arol Sherwin, Commerce State Bank, The Joseph & Catherine Bennett Family Foundation, Park Bank Foundation, Steffen's Plumbing & Heating, HSE Construction, Neuen's Fredonia Lumber Company, Andrew Burish and The Burish Group from UBS Financial, Kohl's Stores (Corporate, Bayshore and Muskego), Gruber Tool & Die, and Hale Vision.  Also, a special thank you to the many community sponsors and in-kind donors who made Sunday such a great day for so many.

Special thanks to two participants:  Taj Jordan and Music on the Move Plus, which donated so many things for the event, and to their staff, who could not have been more professional and supportive.  And the band Rumor, who donated their time and played some great tunes throughout the day.  Peter, thanks all your efforts, especially on your BIRTHDAY!  And Laure, Jay, Tim, Chris, Dave, Justin and Paul, who sounded great, especially belting out the BoDeans!

We would like to give special recognition to Kohl's, Walmart and Marcus Theatres for bringing a huge group of volunteers from their locations throughout Milwaukee, and to Steven Piché who did a great job as our Volunteer Coordinator.

And finally, a HUGE thank you to all the Team Captains, walkers, and volunteers! Your support, dedication, and energy made the day a true success.

With you a Cure is in Sight!
