Congratulations Arizona!
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who joined us for the 7th Annual Arizona VisionWalk! We had over 500 walkers attend this year’s Walk, raising more than $68,000 for critical retinal degenerative disease research!
We want to give a special thank you to our event’s emcee, Paul Horton of CBS 5 Morning News. Paul, thank you for the beautiful weather!
We also want to thank our VisionWalk Chair, Amber Crosby, and our VisionWalk Youth Chair, Abby Crosby. Also, a big thank you to our great Arizona Chapter President Jacque Olsen.
We had a number of in-kind contributors who kept us energized and moving throughout the morning, including: • Starbucks • Safeway • DJ Syntax • Arizona Party Rentals • Get Ready Image Photography • Einstein Bagels • Arizona Industries for the Blind
And finally, we could not have had such a wonderful walk day without the support of our Team Captains, volunteers (especially, the Mountain Pointe Baseball Players and their families), walkers, and sponsors who made this event possible. With your help, a cure is in sight!!!
While we were walking in sunny and warm Phoenix, more than 41 team members from Team Ashley walked in South Dakota. This group braved the chilly weather in an effort to raise awareness and revenue for blinding diseases. Thank you!
Congratulations to our top five fundraising teams: o Team Ashley - Judy & Craig Hauger: $19,066 o Alex’s Allies - Donna Singleton: $9,430 o Webster’s Woofers - Jacque Olsen: $6,290 o Abby’s All Stars – Amber & Abigail Crosby: $6,178 o Mollie’s Shamwalks – Mollie Thompson: $3,112
Also, big congratulations to our Flying Pig Award Winners: • Team Spirit Contest: Hooligrants • Top Individual Fundraiser: Abigail Crosby • Largest Team (and the Largest Team in the U.S.): Team Ashley • Top Team Fundraiser: Team Ashley • MVP – Paula Pedene, Warriors for Sight • Comeback Kids Team Schmoopy Vision Possible • Rookie of the Year – Team Fish
